Half Finished Chest Measurement
This is half the chest circumference, measured as if the blazer were lying flat. To take it on a person:
- Ask them to stand upright with arms relaxed at their sides.
- Place the tape under the arms at the fullest part of the chest (usually across the nipples).
- Wrap the tape straight around the torso, keeping it level across the back and snug but not tight.
- Record the full chest circumference, then simply divide that number by 2 to get the “half finished” value.
👉 Example: If the chest measures 110 cm all around, the half finished chest is 55 cm.
Full Center Back Length
This measures the length of the blazer from collar to hem. On a person:
- Have them stand straight, arms relaxed.
- Place the tape at the nape of the neck (the bone you feel at the base of the collar).
- Run the tape straight down the spine to the point you want the blazer to end (typically mid-seat for a classic blazer).
- Record that length in centimeters or inches.
👉 Example: If the distance is 76 cm, that’s the full center back length.
⚠️ Tips for accuracy:
- Always measure over a shirt, not bulky clothing.
- Keep the tape flat and level (not twisted or angled).
- For the back length, it helps if someone else measures while the wearer stands naturally.
